Ypsilantis
Alexandros Ypsilantis (1792 - 1828) was a member of a prominent Greek family, a Danubian prince, and a senior officer of the Imperial Russian cavalry during the Napoleonic Wars. In 1814 he became a leader of the Filiki Eteria, a secret organization preparing to overthrow the Ottoman rule of Greece. He was engaged with Manto Mavrogenous.
