Agios Nikolaos Anapafsas
The monastery of Agios Nikolaos Anapafsas is the first inhabited monastery that you meet on your way from Kastraki. Its 'katholikon', dedicated to St. Nicholas, is a single-nave church with small dome, built in the beginning of the 16th century. It was decorated by the Cretan painter Theophanis Strelitzas or Bathas in 1527 with remarkable frescoes.
