Such enclosures around cemeteries could make them suitable for religious gatherings, as can be alleged for Peristeria. Cult practices continued here until Classical times. - Below: Of tholos 2 only the lower part of the walls are preserved. They are reinforced at intervals to prevent further collapse. |
