Above and below left: Different views of a marble sphinx which was part of a funerary monument in the Northern Cemetery of Corinth. It comes from a Corinthian workshop and is dated to the middle of the 6th century BC. - Below right: Terracotta acroterion in the form of a sphinx, perhaps from the roof of a temple. Found NE of "Temple E" it is dated to 550-525 BC. |
