Tomb 13 |

Chamber tomb number 13 lies slightly away from the main area of the cemetery. Compared to other tombs the dromos is quite shallow, and there is just an attempt of a tomb chamber. An archaeologist working in Aidonia told me that the Mycenaeans left the tomb unfinished after finding that the rock is too hard in this area. There is, however, something like a burial niche in the wall of the dromos. |

Tomb 14 lies way off to the North near the later detected 'Tomb GK'. It was left unfinished like tamb 13 and is so overgrown meanwhile - nobody ever comes here - that it is hard to see any details. However, it was reported that the skeleton of a horse was found in the dromos as well as the lower jaws of 14 other horses. Such sacrifices have been known from Crete. Well, the tomb looks so small now that it is hard to imagine a horse having been buried here. |

Above right: The dromos of tomb 15 in the foreground left, tomb 6 behind in the center. - Chamber tomb 15 follows the typical Bronze Age setup with the rock-cut dromos with inclined walls leading to a well preserved doorway. In the 4 x 5 m wide chamber are several burial pits and niches in the walls for more burials and grave goods. The tomb was plundered but still contained numerous offerings like ceramics, a gold ring and jewelry of semi-precious stones. |
