Just before reaching the village of Prosymna, coming from Nafplion, a brown sign shows the way to the archaeological area on the left. - Then there are the lower layers in polygonal masonry of a Hellenistic tower on your left. The finds of a winepress, large amphorae and other jugs indicate that the building was mainly used for the production and storage of wine. |

A little further on, on the right side of the road, are the remarkably large and well-preserved remains of a Roman bath. It is from the 200's AD and was excavated as recently as in the 1990s by Swedish archaeologists, although the Swedes began their work here already in 1934. The bath has an impressive size, documenting that many people lived in the now deserted valley at that time. - In short: large, Roman. |
