The entrance to the pyramid with its pointed arch leading to a narrow corridor. This outer entrance had a wooden door that could be bolted by wooden beams. Unwanted intruders who overcame this obstacle could then be attacked in the corridor from above on their unprotected right side. |
|||
Near the end of the corridor is a smaller second gate that was also closed by a bolted wooden door. Positioned on the side of the corridor it could not be attacked by battering rams. - Above left: looking from the corridor through the main entrance to the outside. - Above right: the secondary gate seen from inside. - Below: details of the inner gate. |

Above: a fragment of an ancient millstone inside the pyramid that is hard to explain. It may, however, be the remains of Roman times like in the Tiryns tholos. - Below left: the inner walls of the pyramid. - Below right: a view from the pyramid of Hellenikon to the Argolic Gulf. |
