The entrance to the pyramid with its pointed arch leading to a narrow corridor. This outer entrance had a wooden door that could be bolted by wooden beams. Unwanted intruders who overcame this obstacle could then be attacked in the corridor from above on their unprotected right side.

Near the end of the corridor is a smaller second gate that was also closed by a bolted wooden door. Positioned on the side of the corridor it could not be attacked by battering rams. - Above left: looking from the corridor through the main entrance to the outside. - Above right: the secondary gate seen from inside. - Below: details of the inner gate.
