Above and below: Views of the remains of the Archaic Doric temple next to the church in the modern village of Orchomenos. Only foundations of the columns are preserved and some parts of the columns, but at least they allow to imagine the size of the temple. The peripteros (13 x 31 m) had 6 x 13 doric columns, perhaps made of wood. Some of its stone capitals of high quality lie around upside-down. |
