Above: Circular cistern (now with turtles) in the east wing of the palace, behind the residential quarters. What was it - a swimming pool or an aquarium? Its function remains unknown (although I tend to think of it as the royal swimming pool). Below: Original fragments of the floor decoration at the NE entrance to the Central Court - a carpet of stone, and parts of the drainage system with more clay remains. |
