GREECE CRETE LASITHI XEROKAMPOS

The remains probably are of the small walled city described by the 19th century British surveyor, Captian Spratt. It is identified with ancient Ambelos, placed by various sources in this region. - There are also various Minoan remains in the wider area around Xerokampos. On the little Kavalli islands opposite Xerokampos the remains of fishermen's dwellings of the Late Minoan period have been located.

Finally, there is a nice sandy beach (plus some tavernas and rooms to rent).
