GREECE CRETE LASITHI MOCHLOS GENERAL

Branching off the Agios Nikolaos-Sitia connection (E 75), you approach Mochlos on a serpentine road with views to a romantic chapel (Ekklisia Agios Dimitrios). - Mochlos is a small fishing village and resort located on the main island of Crete, opposite Mochlos islet. During off-season, the village counts a good hundred inhabitants, 10% of which are foreigners. This shows that travellers like Mochlos enormously. Be prepared of falling in love with the village as it has happened to me and many before.

The small picturesque village by the sea is characterized as a landscape of exquisite, natural beauty. And most of all: it is one of the rare truly quiet places left on the North coast of Crete. You won't find any all-inclusive hotels, night clubs or fast food outlets, and that's what makes it perfect. With only a handful of tavernas, a couple of shops and two taxi men to the town, it's ideal for a quiet stay.
