GREECE ATTICA ATHENS ACROPOLIS MUSEUM

The New Acropolis Museum, designed by the New York-based architect Bernard Tschumi, after several delays finally opened in June 2009.

One reason for the delay: the New Acropolis Museum had to be elevated above ground on pillars to retain the archaeological remains that were uncovered when the foundations were being dug.
