GREECE ATTICA ATHENS ACROPOLIS ERECHTHEION

The Erechtheion is the most original building on the acropolis and certainly one of the most beautiful temples of the classical period. The originality of its architecture is partly due to the characteristic of the slightly sloping terrain but especially due to the fact that it incorporates different pre-existing cult places at this particular site and that it was to serve the veneration of two deities - Athena and Poseidon-Erechtheus.
