GREECE THESSALY MAGNESIA FTHIOTIC THEBES

Nea Anchialos, in the Early Christian period called Fthiotic Thebes, existed since classical antiquity. Declining in the late Hellenistic period, it was the largest port in Thessaly during Early Christian times with intense mercantile activity. The settlement experienced its heyday from the 4th till the 7th century AD when it was ruined.
