Above: Not very much is left but still impressive are the walls that fortified the palace itself. - Below: The Rhodian peristyle on a lower terrace still preserves its coating with white, yellow and red plasters. All of this splendour was abandoned after the violent end of the Macedonian domination in 167 BC. |

A few architecural remains of the palace of ancient Demetrias like column parts and decorated elements are on display near the entrance of the site (which had free entrance during my visit in 2016). |
