Lying next to the road the tombs are easily accessible once you find the place. There are about twelve Mycenaean chamber tombs and shaft graves dug out of the soft soil of the hillside. Most of the chamber tombs are circular in shape and some dromoi are preserved but all of the ceilings have collapsed. They are dated to 1600-1500 BC. It is reported that the grave-goods were particularly rich and impressing with the delicacy of their technique. |
