The spring of "Loutra Kaiapha" that comes out of the Lapithos mountain was in antiquity dedicated to the Anigridion nymphs. Its sulphurous waters were already known in ancient times to cure skin diseases, rheumatism and asthma. There are no remains of this thousands of years old tradition, but on the small islet of Agia Aikaterini that can be reached via a narrow bridge, a spa hotel of fading noblesse is still seasonally open. |
