Just South outside of Myloi, west of the coastal road, is a tower on a low hill with an elevation of 74 m. The tower has been called Venetian and even Frankish, but it is definitely of Ottoman origin, constructed perhaps in the 17th century. It is a not very well preserved building with three floors - but since it is not easily accessible I viewed it only from a distance. |

It was formerly known as "the Tower of the Princess" because according to local tradition a princess lived there long ago and because of her incredible beauty (others say, her unspeakable ugliness) she had a subterranean passage built from the tower to the shore, so that she could descend unobserved to bath in the sea. |
