GREECE PELOPONNESE ARGOLIS EPIDAURUS KYNORTION

Kynortion, the Mycenaean sanctuary dedicated to a healing goddess, was founded in the sixteenth century BC over the remains of a settlement of the Early and Middle Bronze Age (2800-1800 BC), and functioned until the eleventh century BC. This early sanctuary was replaced ca. 800 BC by another, dedicated to Apollo, a god with healing abilities, worshipped here as Apollo Maleatas.

During my visit in 2018 the site was closed due to works of conservation and reconstruction. Across the fence, ancient and modern blocks of stone could be seen as well as some ancient walls.
