GR PELOPONNESE ARGOLIS AG. TRIADA CHONIKAS

The church of Koimisi Theotóku - dormition of the Virgin - is of the complex four-column cross-in-square type with a dome. Erected in the middle of the 12th century, it is one of the most important Byzantine monuments in Argolis. Like an ancient temple it stands on a three-level crepidoma], and its masonry is granite, used in the cloisonné system. On the northern, western and southern sides there are two stone crosses, a decorative element characteristic of the 12th century.
