Just outside the small village of Stadio, on the road to Lithovounia, a sign points to a 'Prehistoric Settlement'. From here it is only some 50 m to a little church next to the site. - The finds of Helladic sherds near the church led to the discovery of the settlement, excavated in 2007. It showed a continuous habitation from the Early Helladic period to the late Mycenaean with the main phase of use dating back to the Early Helladic and Middle Helladic period. |

What can be seen? Some pits, inconspicuous foundations of buildings (with some imagination), partly covered by fragments of plastic sheets of the excavations. Something for specialists. |
