Most fascinatong in Vasilike are the labyrinthic rooms and corridors of the "Red House", where impressive walls still stand to a height of some 2 m. The lower part of these walls is made of limestone fieldstones, packed in a mortar of mud with remains of red-painted lime plaster in several places. Upper walls were built entirely of less durable mudbrick. |
